And yes I did install the required Run 8 Train Simulator Mojave Sub first like I should have.It shows up in the routes folder ok but I cant seem to get it to show up on the routes menu to select the route. But moving meets are a whole lot more interesting and realistic (including overtakes, as you can do on the Needles Sub with all the double track). I downloaded and installed the Run 8 Train Simulator Needles Sub add on to the Run 8 Train Simulator.
The base package includes the BNSF Needles Sub, BNSF Mojave Sub (through Barstow, CA), and UP Mojave Sub over Tehachapi to Bakersfield. I agree that static meets are possible in Run 8, and I've set them up and run against them. TSCAD For Run 8 is available for sale, along with additional routes that are available in Run 8 Train Simulator. The lack of automated or "AI" traffic (as MSTS calls it) in Run 8 remains to me their biggest achilles heel. The Cajon route should be on its way soon, and then others after that, including some recently announced new third party routes. Yup, the learning curve is steep, but it's worth it. Glad to know that you like Run 8 now that you're gotten acquainted with it.
